Girl Scouts & Nut Sales

Putting a date on those old, vintage Girl Scout nut tins can be a challenge. Maybe this page can help.

​

The mid- 1950's though the 1970's seemed to be the "hey-day" for tins with the Girl Scout logo on them. Mostly they were metal printed tins, but sometimes paper labels were used. Planters & Fisher's Peanuts were late comers and didn't seem to last too long.

 There were 4 companies involved with nut sales:

  • Peanut Corporation of America

  • Peanut Products Company (simply the new name for Peanut Corporation of America)

  • Lummis & Co.

  • Planters 

  • Fisher
