Some really old Girl Scout belts still have the hook on them for the Girl Scout whistle!

For reason unknown, some Girl Scout whistles had the trefoil engraved upside-down.
B & R was not the manufacturer of the whistles, but the distributor, according to online sources.

Unfortunately quality control was poor with these whistles. The plastic trefoil insert was glued without care, leaving the trefoil at any angle.
