Girl Scout Headquarters

cc.jpg

Officially, there have been 12 different Girl Scout headquarter's addresses, but to be honest it's just basically Savannah, GA., Washington D.C., and New York City.

There are many wonderful items that celebrate the Low House stables as the headquarters, and certainly plenty for New York City but precious little to celebrate the Washington DC era. Even the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital's Discover the Nation's Capital patch program doesn't mention that Washington D.C. was once the headquarters for Girl Scouting. It's a shame because it's in Washington D.C. years (June 1913-April 1916) that the Girl Scout movement went "national."

This pin is incorrect, as Girl Scouting went "national" when the HQ moved to Washington D.C. Subsequent pins have removed the "national" part.

This pin was available to people attending the centennial event in Savannah March 12, 2012.
They said it was a one day only availability. We are lucky to get it.
