From 1999 to 2000, the number of try-its offered went from 46 to 58, all with brown borders. Some were re-named older try-its, some were simply brought forward intact and some were brand new try-its.

2002 brought one new try-it "Wave The Flag"

2002 GSUSA dropped the requirement that only troop leaders could purchase earned badges, try-it's and IPPs.

2004 an additional try-it "Smart Cookie" was added.

2004 Iron-on Try-it's were launched.
